Introduction of medical crepe bandage

Medical crepe bandage is mainly used to replace traditional gypsum in the past. Its main categories are glass fiber (glass fiber bandage), polyester fiber (polyester fiber bandage), etc., medical orthopedic trauma accessories made by heat treatment, gluing, and other processes. The medical polyurethane crepe bandage consists of a support (glass fiber and polyester fiber), a hardener (polyurethane resin), a colorant (copper phthalocyanine green), and a plastic spool. Its biggest advantage is good shape, easy to operate, transparent to X-ray, etc. It is usually used for orthopedic fixation, and the production of molds, prostheses, and orthoses auxiliary appliances, etc., and is currently the most advanced material in orthopedic external fixation. Since the material composed of the pure polymer as a substitute for gypsum has some disadvantages of low mechanical properties, it is very promising to study polyurethane-reinforced composite materials to improve the mechanical strength and dimensional stability of materials.

 

Structural properties

The crepe bandage components used in medical treatment are mainly thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers, which contain many -NHCOO-, linear blocks composed of soft segments (long-chain oligomeric diols) and hard segments (diisocyanates and chain extenders) polymer. Through the composition of different soft segments and hard segments, polymers with different functional uses are formed. Its main properties are as follows: excellent anticoagulant properties; non-toxic to human body; good compatibility, no distorting effect, no allergic reaction; good toughness and elasticity, high strength; excellent wear resistance, can be Processability; easy to sterilize and disinfect.

 

Breathability

Polyurethane crepe bandage has better air permeability, which is significantly better than gypsum bandage. It is a composite material. By adjusting the composition of polyurethane resin; adjusting the three-dimensional network structure of the substrate instead of the plane structure; adjusting the glue content of the resin. Compatibility treatment between polyurethane and substrate; drying, cleaning, and pretreatment on the surface of the substrate; can enhance the mechanical strength and dimensional stability of polyurethane crepe bandages, increase the breathability of crepe bandages, and enhance the use of patients. In particular, to prevent excessive sweating in summer, causing skin infections, muscle atrophy, and other defects in patients, shortening the recovery time of patients.
