In addition to being a great alternative, the condom catheter is incredibly easy and straightforward to use, since it is simply rolled onto the penis. Generally speaking, an external catheter affixes to the penis by an adhesive.

Compared to the above two catheters, for male external catheters, there is no need to insert catheters into the urethra reducing the rate of CAUTI with advanced catheters.
