Parraffin gauze is ideal for open wounds where there is a risk of the gauze sticking to the wound - thus delaying the healing process.
This gazue allows the wound to drain freely into another second dressing.
Uusally it is a sterile gauze impregnated with a substance eg a petroleum .
This allows less adherence to the wound.
Features:
Wide-mesh dressing made of cotton gauze covered with paraffin.
Structure of the carrier material allows exudate to be freely drained to the covering secondary dressing.
Covering with a layer of paraffin reduces risk of adhesion to the wound and allows a painless change of dressing.
Natural properties of paraffin allow for using the dressing in combination.
Suitable for minor burns and scalds, donor and recipient skin graft sites, skin loss wounds, lacerations, and abrasions
