A crepe bandage may be a gauze bandage for dressing wounds or affected areas. It's a common medical product. There are many various types and dressing methods. It's necessary to choose the appropriate type and dressing method according to the injured part. Let's take a glance.

Here is the content list:

l Bandaging method

l Crepe bandage dressing tips

Bandaging method

Ring dressing

It is used for small or cylindrical parts of limbs, like hands, feet, wrists, and foreheads, and is additionally used at the beginning of various dressings. Roll the crepe bandage upwards, hold it with the proper hand, unfold the crepe bandage by about 8cm, fix the top end of the crepe bandage with the left thumb to the part that needs to be bandaged, and wrap the part during a continuous ring with the right hand.

Spiral wrapping

For parts with approximately equal circumferences, like upper arms, fingers, etc. From the distal end, first, wrap two rolls in a circular shape, then wrap them in a spiral at a 30° angle toward the proximal end. Each roll overlaps the previous roll by 2/3, and therefore the ends are fixed with tape. Weekly crepe bandages don't cover each other in the absence of crepe bandage in first aid or temporarily immobilizing the splint, called snake bandage.

Spiral reflex wrapping

For parts with different circumferences, like forearms, calves, thighs, etc., start with a two-week ring bandage, then an oblique bandage, press the middle of the top of the tape with the thumb of one hand, and reverse the tape from now with the other hand. Fold right down to cover 1/3 or 2/3 of the previous week. Each fold must be neatly arranged in a straight line, but each fold shouldn't be in wounds and bony prominences.

"8" wrapping method

It is used for bandaging and fixation of clavicle fractures in the shoulder, elbow, wrist, ankle, and other joints. Take the elbow as an example, first wrap 2 rolls within the middle of the joint, the crepe bandage is first wrapped around the top of the joint, then wrapped around the flexed side to the bottom of the joint, skilled the back of the limb to the flexed side of the limb, then wrapped around the top of the joint, and so on, conclude and down the joint continuously in the shape of "8", each roll overlaps with the previous roll by 2/3, and eventually wrap 2 rolls above the joint in a circular shape, and fix it with tape reverse wrapping

For the highest of the head, fingertips, and limb stumps, it's a series of left and right or front and rear reverse bandages. After covering all the bandaged parts, make a hoop bandage for two weeks).

Crepe bandage dressing tips

1. The injured person should be in the proper position.

2. The affected limb is placed in an adaptive position so that the patient can keep the limb comfortable during the dressing process and reduce the pain of the patient.

3. The affected limb should be bandaged within the functional position.

4. The packer usually stands ahead of the patient to observe the patient's facial expressions.

5. Generally, it should be bandaged from the within out, and from the distal end to the trunk. At the start of the bandage, two ring bandages must be made to repair the crepe bandage.

6. When bandaging, master the crepe bandage roll to avoid falling. The crepe bandage roll should be flat on the bandaged area.

7. The pressure should be equal hebdomadally when bandaging, and it shouldn't be too light, as to not fall off. It shouldn't be too tight, to avoid circulatory disturbance.

8. Apart from patients with acute bleeding, open wounds, or fractures, the local area must be clean and dry before bandaging.

9. Rings, gold bracelets and watch necklaces should be removed before dressing.
