Forlong POP Bandage

Forlong Medical is a professional manufacturer of medical bandages with over a decade of export experience. Our Plaster of Paris (POP) Bandage is made from 100% hydrophilic cotton gauze coated with high-grade plaster, ensuring rapid setting, excellent moldability, and high strength. It’s trusted by hospitals and orthopedic clinics worldwide for fracture immobilization, post-operative support, and casting applications.

Why Choose Forlong POP Bandage

High Plaster Content ≥ 400 g/m²

Each roll is coated with premium-grade plaster, forming a dense and rigid cast with excellent surface smoothness, minimal powder shedding, and superior mechanical strength after hardening.

Fast Immersion & Uniform Setting

Fully wets in less than 5 seconds and achieves consistent setting time across the roll, improving clinical efficiency, reducing waste, and allowing smoother, bubble-free application.

17 Threads/cm² Cotton Base Fabric

High-density gauze ensures strong tensile resistance and precise moulding. The weave pattern enhances flexibility, enabling accurate adaptation to any limb contour during wrapping.

Certified Quality (CE & ISO 13485)

Every batch undergoes strict testing for plaster purity, setting speed, tensile strength, and load-bearing capacity, guaranteeing dependable performance and compliance with global medical standards.

FAST, NORMAL & LONG Setting Series

The Forlong POP Bandage series offers three precise setting speeds—FAST, NORMAL, and LONG—providing medical professionals with flexible options to match every casting need, from emergency immobilization to detailed orthopedic applications.

orthoBAND FAST

orthoBAND FAST (Quick Setting 3 min)

Ideal for emergency immobilization and situations requiring quick fixation. It hardens within 3 minutes, delivering immediate support and time-saving efficiency in trauma care.

orthoBAND NORMAL (Standard 5–6 min)

The most widely used POP bandage for routine orthopedic and surgical applications. It provides sufficient working time for precise moulding before achieving full rigidity.

orthoBAND NORMAL
orthoBAND LONG

orthoBAND LONG (Slow Setting 8–12 min)

Designed for large casts, teaching models, or sculptural moulds where slower setting allows better adjustment. Offers smooth texture and durable strength after curing.

How to Apply Forlong POP Bandage in 4 Simple Steps

Immersion Activation (Soaking)

Prepare water at 20°C to 25°C. Quickly immerse the bandage in the water at a 45° angle until no more air bubbles appear (usually 5-10 seconds). This ensures the bandage absorbs water completely and evenly.

Gentle Squeezing (Draining)

Lift the soaked bandage and gently squeeze it from the edges towards the center to remove excess water. Do not twist or over-squeeze, as this will wash away the plaster.

Wrapping and Applying

Immediately wrap the bandage evenly around the wound using a figure-eight or spiral wrapping method. Overlap each layer by about half, wrapping 6-9 layers for optimal strength. Work quickly before the plaster begins to harden.

Shaping and Fixing (Fixing)

After wrapping, quickly shape the plaster to conform to the patient's contours. Maintain the desired alignment and position without moving it until the exothermic reaction is complete and the plaster hardens (3-5 minutes).
